The tenderloin is one of the top favorites of both our customers and staff here on the farm! The muscle that the tenderloin comes from doesn’t get worked much when the pig is walking around, so the result is a tender and lean cut of meat. And when “tender” is built into the name, you know it will be! And because of the little to no fat content on this cut of meat, you get a more mild flavor that makes it a great base for any marinade or recipe.
We love to marinate our tenderloins for a couple hours, or overnight for even more flavor, and either grill it or roast it in the oven. A great midweek meal that will be a crowd pleaser. Or try something new and make a delicious meat pie, with your favorite herbs, spices and fruit. Kara’s go-to is a pork tenderloin and apple pie with brown sugar, thyme, and allspice.
Our pork tenderloin comes in around one and a half pound packages of premium pork that are vacuum sealed for freshness. These pigs have the best life possible when on our farm. From the moment they are born or brought to our farm, our animals are treated with the utmost respect. Rotational grazing when the weather permits allows them to have the best health for the animals while also allowing proper stewardship of the pastures. They are also provided free choice locally milled grains to ensure they have the best nutrients possible. Our animals are never fed animal by products and are never given growth hormones or steroids.
