Sweet Italian Sausage - Pepper, Mushrooms and Onions

This simple and delicious one-pan sausage and peppers recipe will soon be a family favorite! Serve in a roll, or use as a topping for pizza or pasta. For an extra kick, try using 1/2 sweet Italian sausage and 1/2 hot sausage!.

Ingredients
- 2 TBS butter
- 1 yellow onion - sliced
- 3/4 cup mushrooms - sliced
- 1 large red pepper - sliced
- 2 cloves garlic - minced
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 cup white wine or apple juice
- (1 lb.) Sweet Italian Pork Sausage Links
Directions
Place the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, and brown on all sides. Remove from the skillet and slice.
Melt butter in the skillet. Stir in the yellow onion and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes. Mix in red bell pepper and mushrooms. Season with basil and oregano. Stir in white wine. Continue to cook and stir until peppers and onions are tender.
Return sausage slices to skillet with the vegetables. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until sausage is heated.
Serve over rice or buttered noodles.
