Our marrow bones from the lower leg bone of the cows, making them large and filled with delicious marrow! Many people use marrow bones to make stocks and broths because of the delicious marrow inside. The bones are high in omega-3’s and collagen, giving your stock or broth a hearty and nutritious element as well as making it taste amazing. For even deeper flavors, we recommend roasting the bones before making your stock for a more flavorful stock. This is also a popular bone used for making bone broth, which many people use to help nourish their bodies.
Or, these bones can be a great treat for your furry friends! The farm dogs, Wyatt and Reba, love getting marrow bones and many customers buy them for their own dogs. The hard bone helps clean the dog’s teeth while giving them something to chew on and entertain themselves. They are great enrichment treats for your dog, though smaller pups might have a harder time as these bones tend to be on the bigger side. We may have smaller marrow bones in stock, so feel free to reach out via email and ask if we have any smaller bones available!
We would also like to note, these are long marrow bones and they are not split in half down the center. Because all our meats are hand cut we can not have our bones sliced the long way; it is too dangerous for the packing staff.
Our marrow bones come in between around two and a half pound packages of premium beef bone that are vacuum sealed for freshness. These cows have the best life possible when on our farm. From the moment they are born or brought to our farm, our animals are treated with the utmost respect. Rotational grazing when the weather permits allows them to have the best health for the animals while also allowing proper stewardship of the pastures. Our animals are never fed animal by products and are never given growth hormones or steroids.
