On The Farm Chili
A hearty chili created by Aunt Sue that has been distributed to our customers for years.

Ingredients

  • (1 lb.) Ground Beef
  • 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 lb. Sweet Italian Sausage (or another sausage of your choosing)
  • 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 15oz can chili beans drained
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 15 oz can black beans drained
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes with juice 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 cubes beef bouillon
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper

Directions

  1. In a skillet, cook ground beef and sausage until evenly brown. Drain.
  2. Combine all remaining ingredients in a large stock pot. Stir to blend.
  3. Simmer covered on low for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve with corn chips, cheddar cheese or sour cream.

Alternative Cooking Methods:

  • Cook all day, 6-9 hours, on low in a crock pot.
  • Cook in instant pot. Brown ground beef, sausage, and onion on sauté feature then cook on high pressure for 15 minutes + natural release.
