Basic Braised Lamb Shanks
Succulent braised lamb shanks slow cooked in a red wine, tomato, and fresh basil sauce. Serve with mushroom risotto and grilled zucchini.

Ingredients

  • 2 lamb shanks (1 pound each)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard

Directions

  1. Place lamb in a greased 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. 
  2. Combine the broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic and mustard; pour over meat. 
  3. Cover and bake at 325° for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until the meat is tender.
